On Sunday the 10th of May, members of the FamilySleeps research team, Aung and Holly, attended the Kildare Inclusivity Festival at the Curragh Racecourse.

The festival brought together families, community organisers, and local support services for a vibrant day celebrating inclusion and accessibility. Activities throughout the day included inclusive sports, face painting and bracelet making, live music and Irish dancing, artisan food and craft stall, and family fun zones.

We were delighted to speak with attendees about our ongoing FamilySleeps research study and to share information about our work exploring the genetics of sleep and circadian rhythms in autism. The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with families, hear about their lived experiences, and to discuss the importance of sleep research.
A huge thank you to the organisers and supporters of the festival, including Kildare County Council, County Kildare Access Network, Intel, The Kildare Sports Partnership, Barretstown, Kare, and Nua Healthcare for creating a welcoming and inclusive event.
